This Place Makes Millions While Doing Absolutely Nothing
And What It Teaches You About Marketing
Yesterday, I was at an airport.
As I walked through the terminal, I saw a huge crowd all around me.
And something hit me.
Millions of people go through this airport.
Every. Single. Year.
Not exactly a new discovery, you might say.
It’s an airport, right?
Sure. Now, think.
How much advertising the airport has to do to get people to show up?
None.
Interesting, right?
People have to go there.
Let's see this from the airport's POV.
They don’t need to beg for attention.
They don’t need to “convince” anyone to come.
They know that people will certainly show up.
No doubt about that.
After all, if you want to travel, you must pass through the airport.
It’s forced attention.
From a marketing perspective, that’s everything.
Let me unpack this.
A lot of people believe that to reach millions, you have to be some kind of a global superstar.
The next Justin Bieber. The next Elon Musk. The next MrBeast.
But that’s not true.
You don’t need to be famous.
You don’t need everyone to know you.
You just need control over the flow.
Think about it.
This means that in order to reach millions of people you could be a famous pop star...
Or an airport.
Weird, but true.
Now let me show you why those who control the flow, win.
Think about what happens at an airport.
Every single person in that airport paid for a ticket.
Some paid even more to get luggages, transport, etc.
That means money is already flowing.
And what happens when you have a huge concentrated group of people with spending power?
Businesses show up to capitalize.
Luxury stores. Duty-free shopping. Overpriced coffee. Restaurants. Ads everywhere.
These businesses aren’t chasing customers.
They exist where customers already are.
See the point?
They know people have to pass through.
So they don’t waste energy trying to “get attention.”
They place offers where the money is already flowing.
The marketing takeaway is to engineer your own airport, if you can.
Which is the complete opposite of what most people do nowadays.
I strongly believe that most entrepreneurs, business owners, creators, etc. do business backwards.
They create something, then run around the Internet screaming, hoping someone pays attention.
To be honest, screaming actually works.
The more noise you make, the more people notice you.
The more people notice you, the more people know about you, and the more people can buy from you.
In a way, that's how advertising works.
The problem with that is that I don't think it's strategic enough.
If anything, that’s exhausting.
I prefer something else. I prefer a smarter way.
Smart marketers engineer systems that make people come to them.
That's how I like to play the game.
Smart marketers think differently.
They build the “airport.”
They own the flow.
They place themselves where the money is already moving.
That’s how you win.
Where’s Your Airport?
I want to challenge your thinking.
Your marketing thinking, if you will.
Instead of trying to chase attention, ask yourself:
→ How can I position myself where people already go?
→ How can I make it so they have to pass through me?
→ How can I control the flow instead of fighting for scraps?
That’s the real game.
So here's the final point.
You don’t have to be world-famous.
You just need strategic positioning that makes people come to you.
Because once you control the flow, you never have to chase.
That's a powerful place to be in.
I know what I like.
Talk soon,
Nick
P.S. Next time you see an airport, think about it differently. Think about how money flows through it effortlessly. I mean really think about it. Then ask yourself, how can you create something similar in your own business? Thank me later.
