How To Make People Obsessively Search for You
Without Saying a Word
I’ve found a strange little rule about modern marketing:
If you want people to pay attention, give them everything.
If you want them to remember you, give them almost everything.
Let me explain.
Our brains are wired for resolution.
It’s called the Zeigarnik Effect.
A psychological phenomenon discovered by Russian psychologist Bluma Zeigarnik.
Long story short, people tend to remember unfinished tasks significantly more than completed ones.
In other words, when you give someone everything…
The story, the answer, the conclusion….
Their brain says
“Cool. That’s done.”
Then it moves on.
But when you leave something missing, even something tiny, their brain starts buzzing.
They replay it. They search for it. They fill in the blanks.
That’s the power of strategic incompleteness.
That’s what I’m going to talk about today.
Let me show you a practical example from my situation.
Let’s say I want to push the Nick Tribe name as a DJ / Producer.
Most people think visibility is about posting more.
More content. More platforms. More hashtags. More noise.
Nothing wrong with that.
But once you’ve done “more”…what’s left?
I think there is a much more strategic way to go about it.
It’s not about being louder, but rather clever.
It’s one thing to promote yourself and talk about you.
It’s a completely other thing to make people ask questions about you.
You don’t shout. You attract people to your world.
Let me show you what I mean.

See this pic?
It’s a few comments from my music profile or pages that I own (via DMT)
These people are interested in a track.
They are looking for music that appears to be live and somewhere….except it isn’t.
The music is not released yet.
But you wouldn’t know that by watching the clip.
Because the perception is that it’s already out.
So now, they’re searching for something they can’t find.
They’re asking questions.
They’re invested.
They want to know where to get it.
So they go look for it.
And that’s where the magic happens.
Think about what just happened.
I’m not telling them to listen. I’m making them want to.
When you give everything up front, people scroll past.
But when you give just enough to spark interest, they take action.
I’m building search intent before the ‘product’ even exists.
This is the ‘secret’ I’m talking about in the title.
As a result of this marketing move…
People are typing “Nick Tribe” into the TikTok, SoundCloud, Spotify, or Google search bar.
They’re voluntarily training the algorithm for me.
So now the platforms think I’m someone worth showing more.
It’s an SEO boost, a brand boost, and proof of demand in one.
In other words, they start searching for me.
That’s the game.
Now “Nick Tribe” isn’t just a post.
It’s a search term and a signal of relevance.
Think about this little game constantly multiplied for every thing you want to promote.
When you apply this principle correctly, you beat your competition.
It’s not even a fair game.
They beg for clicks.
You engineer curiosity loops.
They think about screaming louder.
You think about attraction marketing.
They think good marketing is about ‘giving value’.
You know great marketing is about controlling attention.
So here’s the takeaway.
Create a moment that makes someone say…
“I need to know who / what this is.”
Not “that was cool.”
Not “I’ll follow you.”
But…
“What the hell is this and why can’t I find it?”
That’s how you go from a random clip...
To a brand people type into search bars.
Just imagine how powerful this principle can be for your business, project, or brand.
Talk soon,
Nick
